Disrespect of Parents at Bunga Primary School
A couple of years ago when my daughter had challenge in mathematics I met her teacher and told him that she will improve as the subject wasn't an easy one. I went on to tell him that even myself wasn't a star in math.
Surprisingly when my wife attended a public session at the school, the headmistress denounced her in a mammoth gathering as one of the parents who misguided children. She was devastated. She came home very disappointed. Being a university lecturer I understood how some of these primary school directors take themselves and played cool.
This time around, on our Eid Adhuha I called the matron to inform her that a boda boda man will pick my daughter as we weren't at home and hope to arrive shortly after 8pm. The matron said we better pick the kid as we have now notified her even if it will be outside normal pickup hours. Incidentally when i arrived to pick my daughter the headmistress was around. She arrogantly refused to allow my daughter out despite am the explanation. It was just 8.30p. I believe this lady has a grudge with Muslims that she has to grind.
I loved the school and the former late headmaster who was really a very humble understanding man.
Mrs Kateregga please change the way the school is run. It is a collective duty whereby each individual who works at school play a role. Since intake to the matron and accepted to assist in that regard, it would have been humble enough to regard the decision of your subordinate, a very humble good lady.
Change your behaviour and attitude towards parents and in particular Muslim parents. This is your school but you don't teach only your children. It is a school of the community as much as you are the founder.
