Reviews of The Crested Crane Bwindi Hotel - Kanungu

I stayed, at this hotel in October 2015 during my famtrip tour to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The hotel is located 14 km away from the Buhoma Gate in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, *for those visiting for gorilla tracking and other activities in the park). I enjoyed dining at the restaurant which was beautiful designed on the hill and has large glass windows where i enjoyed an uninterrupted views of the Bwindi Forest, the Nyundo Hill and the hotel's diary farm. My accommodation was in one of the cottages, so i could enjoy total privacy. The beds were comfortable, clean and large rooms. The shower were amazing and came with both cold and hot water.

Upon your request, the hotel can arrange local excursion to the nearest tourists attractions like the water falls, farm tour, visit to the vegetable gardens. Visit to the local black smith and traditional healers can be arranged, giving you another opportunity to get a better understanding of the ways of the local community ways of life. Visiting the waterfall and the diary farm were remarkable.

The hotel is frequently visited by Gray Crested Cranes. During my stay, a flock of 25 head of these Cranes, *Uganda National Bird) visited the hotel grounds where they feed.
