Housing Finance Bank was founded in 1967 as a housing finance company and became a fully licensed commercial Bank in January 2008, after acquiring a commercial Banking licence from the Bank of Uganda. The Bank is the leading mortgage lender in Uganda.

Housing Finance Bank is a public limited liability company offering financial services licensed and regulated by Bank of Uganda as a Commercial Bank to carry on the business of banking under the financial institutions Act No. 2 of 2004.
