ROLE PURPOSE To provide leadership and direction to the Bank’s Credit Administration Department in responsible to ensure that the origination and management of credit is done within the approved policies and procedures. Additionally, it is the responsibility of the Job holder to ensure timely submission of accurate reports as required by Key stakeholder including, Management, Board, Bank of Uganda, External and Internal Audit as well as the Credit Reference agencies.
KEY RESULT AREAS/ DELIVERABLES: • Making credit limits available to clients after ensuring that all credit approvals have been correctly obtained. • Making credit limits available to clients after ensuring that all security and documentation formalities have been complied with. • Maintaining continuous monitoring of Business and Institutional Banking accounts for overdue payments and exceptions. • Ensuring that required periodic valuation of securities held as collateral is performed satisfactorily according to the Credit policy. • Generating MIS and exception reports for senior management action • Generating a control Process Dashboard for credit process items requiring immediate attention by Management for submission to the Chief Credit Offi¬cer. • Ensuring accurate provisioning under both FIA and IFRS 9 guidelines. • Undertakes proper and up to date ling of all Credit related documentation and other credit operations related communications. • Attending to queries raised through the business or through any recognized channel within scheduled TAT. • As the custodian of Credit Documentation and in collaboration with the branch business managers, ensure that ling of offer letters issued is up to date and les are kept in an orderly and neat manner for ease of retrieval and old documents to be removed from the active les and archived as required. Ensure safe custody of all credit security documentations through quality ling management, accurate and proper recording keeping, and traction of security movements, which includes release of collaterals where the facilities have been fully paid. • Establish and implement suitable systems to track all security compliance covenants e.g. valuation reports and insurance records of all assets where the bank has an interest etc
