Guests can choose to stay at Bwigamiro Country Home which is a family estate with dairy farming, tea plantation and forestry among the key activities there. Bwigamiro which in the local rutooro language means “restful place / shelter” is reknown for it’s delicate conservation of nature evident on trails along River Mahoma and the natural forest where flora and fauna abound. It offers cosy timber cottage accommodation and a serene environment where traditional crafts and delicious local meals can also be provided.

A hearty cooked breakfast is served every morning, with porridge, milk or black tea and fresh bread and honey to enjoy. Fruit salad and juice are also on the menu. All rooms offer comfortable décor and have en suite bathrooms. There is a reading/writing table, and beds have warming blankets.

Guest can relax in the garden or read a favourite book in the tree-house. The country home has beautiful grounds for camping. Students and group tour booking welcome.

Bwigamiro Country Home is also an ideal base for walkers to explore the nearby crater lakes fields, waterfalls, Amabere ga Nyinamwiru caves, mountains. The Kibale rainforest National Park is another of the area’s attractions, one of the areas where humankind's closest relative, the chimpanzee, is found in Uganda. Bwigamiro Country Home is aslo ideal base for sightseeing, walking and cycling.

There is private parking and pleasant views across well-kept gardens and out to the Rwenzori Mountains ranges.

If you want to stay overnight at the estate, you have to make reservations at Fort Motel.
