The Ajira Experience

The Ajira Experience is a year-long innovative program that used a new model of cooperative education that combines active and experiential learning combined with hands-on professional experience. 11 eleven months are spent in full a time apprenticeship [we arrange the placement] and the other one month is used for 4 week-long quarterly learning bootcamps across four different East African countries. With that, our Fellows exit the Ajira Experience with 11 months of professional experience, mastery of many key skills thought by professionals, a robust feedback report to help in career choices, exposure, personal growth and huge East African network. We ensure they leave with a combination of skills, experiences, values and virtue that pushes them to pursue what we call “restless excellence” at their work workplace and/or entrepreneurial ventures.
