Overview 

We are seeking a skilled System Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working on large-scale projects within governmental organisations, possessing at least three years of experience in this domain. The role involves interacting with various stakeholders, including students, teachers, head teachers, principals, administrators, and government officials, to gather system requirements for hardware infrastructure, e-learning platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and Management Information Systems (MIS). The System Analyst will be responsible for identifying development requirements and collaborating with the technical team to determine feasible solutions considering regional internet penetration, device limitations, electricity availability, and other pertinent factors in Uganda. 


Job Description: 

  • Examine and Evaluate Current Systems: Assess existing systems to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. 
  • Requirement Gathering: Interact with diverse user groups to elicit, analyze, and document system requirements for e-learning platforms, LMS, MIS & hardware infrastructure. 
  • Liaise with Users: Collaborate with users to track additional requirements and features, ensuring comprehensive understanding and alignment with organizational objectives. 
  • Analysis and Documentation: Develop use cases, sequencing diagrams, flowcharts, Gantt charts, and other relevant documentation to comprehensively capture system requirements and functionalities. Create detailed documentation outlining interfaces between new systems and legacy systems to ensure seamless integration and data flow. 
  • Project Management: Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure timely and efficient delivery of solutions. 
  • Collaboration Solution: Work closely with the technical team to translate requirements into viable solutions considering regional constraints such as internet access, device compatibility, and electricity availability. 
  • Solution Evaluation: Evaluate proposed solutions against established requirements and constraints, providing insights and recommendations for optimization. 
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in testing and quality assurance processes to ensure developed solutions meet specified requirements and standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between different user groups, top management and the technical team to facilitate effective communication and understanding of requirements. 
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users to facilitate smooth adoption and utilization of developed systems and hardware infrastructure. 


Desired Candidate Profile/ Required Experience & Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems. 
  • Master's Degree (Optional): Master of Science (MSc) in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business Administration 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a System Analyst, preferably in governmental projects. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. 5. Proficiency in creating and interpreting use cases, sequencing diagrams, flowcharts, and Gantt charts. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 8. Familiarity with e-learning platforms, LMS, MIS, and hardware concepts and technologies is desirable. 
  • Understanding of regional factors affecting technology adoption such as internet penetration, device limitations, and electricity availability in Uganda. 10. Stay up-to-date with current technologies and technical developments 11. Hands-on experience with software development and documentation 12. Solid knowledge of business information systems & working knowledge of business software applications 
  • Familiarity with programming languages & ability to explain technical details.
