BaNaPads - Kampala

BaNaPads is an eco-friendly, cost-effective sanitary pad solution that is made from processed stems of banana plants. These pads are packaged and distributed to schoolgirls each month. BaNaPads fabrication centers are located in rural communities in Uganda, providing employment and services to the local female population. The target market of BaNaPads products consists of over 7 million females, with 1.7 million of them between the ages of 10 and 19. This product offers a much-needed solution to the embarrassment and lack of access to effective menstrual management products that prevent female students from attending school or participating in activities outside of the home. By providing affordable, hygienic, and accessible methods for managing menstruation, BaNaPads is empowering women and girls in rural Uganda.
